The instability of Nitish Kumar, the Bihar CM and the JDU leader has once again come to the fore. In the previous state elections, Nitish partnered with Lalu Yadav’s RJD, after quitting his NDA alliance, only to dump RJD and ally with BJP once again. In the Lok Sabha election, he once again partnered with the BJP, fully aware of the BJP’s avowed stance and poll promises on the withdrawal of Art 370 from J & K, Uniform Civil Code and the Ram Mandir, should NDA return to power.
Nitish has now opposed the three issues and may well prepare to do some further acrobatic adventure to try out to be the alternative PM candidate, roping in the opposition on the three issues, though the poll arithmetic disfavours any such move.
The Vice President of the JDU party, Prashant Kishor has signed an MOU with Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamul Congress for the forthcoming Assembly elections in 2021. Interestingly, Prashant Kishor is the poll advisor to Jagan Reddy, the CM of Andhra Pradesh, who is a sworn enemy and political opponent of Chandra Babu Naidu. Mamata is a friend of Naidu. JDU is presently wedded to BJP, and the Vice President of JDU is engaging with the Mamata, the bête noire of Modi, Nitish saying that Prashant Kishor did not inform either him or his party of his deal with Mamata but hastens to say that it is all just fine.
While the South Indian sweet Jangiri has some defined forms, its poorer cousin, the Jalebi of the North has an odd and uneven shape, difficult to trace the beginning or the end.
Nitish’s policies are no different than the formless Jalebi!
