The battle between the 49 and 61 shouldn’t have begun at all and must end, as more and more people for and against are getting into the fray. The chant of Jai Shri Ram and the lynching have become to enlarge our mind and thoughts to illogical limits.
I had worked, my factory in the thick of a Muslim dominated area both in Kolkata and in Chennai. I have worked with many Muslims from all categories, from work-men and to the tallest leaders during my work spanning nearly four decades and have never found anything typically offensive ever. I wonder what has become of our country. Why our animal instincts are so pronounced? Are we still grudging the attack of Ghazinis and Ghoris? Are we scared of losing Ram? Are we really using God’s name as a war-cry? It seems the whole country is focusing on the problem, ignoring the solutions!
The majority of Hindus and the majority of Muslims would have never wished to live in such disharmony, which is unhealthy for our nation. The fact is we have to readjust to live in peace and harmony. The scare that the Hindus are in grave danger and Hinduism is in the path of destruction has been force-fed for the sake of political consolidations. The revered chant of Jai Shri Ram has been twisted and labelled as a war cry or abuse by a few. Just because of a few claims as such, will the spirit of the chant change? I guess not. Conversely, hate speech by a few sadhus too aren’t suiting their sanctified appearance and culture. They must be isolated.
Ram existed at the beginning of the millennium when Muslims invaded and ruled us for 800 years. Hinduism and Ram both are still is in existence and has not yielded as the Aztec or Mayan races in Latin America. We will continue to survive, and my first advice is, do not suffer at your imaginary weaknesses but understand the solid foundation upon which Hinduism stands.
Two to my Muslim friends: I was reading an article from China, which has demolished one more mosque today. Quran is banned, skull cap is banned, religious fasting is banned, burkhas are banned, Madarasas are banned, beards are banned and singing the national anthem is compulsory. There are more than a million Muslims in reform camps, read virtual prisons, and shredding all forms of religious beliefs, from abstaining of pork to liquor.
India is far too secular and can never dream of resorting to such kind of cruelty ever. What you should note is, no Islamic country nor any Indian leader has stood up to condemn such barbarism in the 21st century. More than believing leaders believe in yourselves.
Try as a step towards amity, my friends, to stop a head-on confrontation over issues, which the majority may be offended. I must hasten to add that the majority cannot be ever offended with peaceful coexistence with any community. Other than you, there are also Christian, Jews, Armenians, Ahmadis, Zoroastrians who all consider India their home.
Let the social networking sites like Facebook and WhatsApp carry stories of amity and friendship, understanding and tolerance, rather than gory articles, which would cause further hatred and misunderstanding. Let’s try to understand and respect our respective gods, rather than participate in endless bickering, which will affect the generations to come.
Good hopes are the driving force of humanity.
